Congratulations to the wonderful team at the new Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital. The patient tower opened its doors to the public and welcomed its first baby boy and baby girl on Sunday, October 27. Lori Matzner, Director for the Center for Women and Newborns and Maternal Child Health Services at Henry Mayo was quoted saying, “Moving into our new Center for Women and Newborns made for an exciting day. Then the arrival of Jameson and Natalie made the day even more special. We look forward to welcoming many, many more babies in the months and years to come.”
The $151M project broke ground in October 2016 and is part of the hospital’s master plan. It has up to 142 additional beds in all-private patient rooms with generous window views and daylight accessibility. Two new surgery suites have been added to the Women’s Services Unit. In addition, there are Laboratory Services and Materials Management Services, a permanent rooftop helipad with direct access to the ED, three new Med Surg units, four nursing charting stations per floor, and new and expanded Nutritional Services and Cafeteria, among other new features.
HTS is honored to have worked with Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital. We wish the leaders and staff all the best as they continue to provide for the healthcare needs of the communities of Santa Clarita Valley.
