Excitement is building up as the new Fort Yuma Health Care Center prepares to open its doors to the Quechan and Cocopah tribes. The 76,000 square-foot clinic is located on the Quechan Nation in Winterhaven, CA.
HTS Project Manager Cindy Smith with Coordinator Kim King joined the Yuma clinic staff last week for Day in the Life scenario practices and workflow testing. The HTS event gave the participates a “feel” on how to work in the new workspace, evaluate efficiencies, and identify and resolve issues. In total, 40 staff members from the different primary care clinics participated (including Public Health Nursing, Behavioral Health, and Dental Clinics) as well as Pharmacy and Registration personnel. The staff expressed their appreciation for the dress rehearsal. It helped acclimate them to the new location and boosted their confidence to settle issues when the clinic welcomes its patients to the brand new facility.
