On December 17, 2017, HTS facilitated the move of 125 patients into Santa Clara Valley Medical Center’s (SCVMC) Sobrato Pavilion. The 370,000-square-foot Sobrato Pavilion houses 168 private patient rooms that include intensive care, acute/transitional beds and rehabilitation beds, as well as a state-of-the-art spinal cord and traumatic brain injury rehabilitation center. The pavilion is designed to achieve LEED Gold certification. Working with representatives from impacted departments, HTS ensured the seamless transfer of patients to their new home. “It has been a pleasure and honor to work with the professional staff of SCVMC”, says Ann Ahmadi, HTS Senior Project Manager. “Their dedication and perseverance made this dream a reality for the residents of Santa Clara County”.
HTS began their engagement with the County of Santa Clara in August 2016. Together, they worked towards the completion of important project milestones such as building turnover and hospital licensure. With the HTS Day in the Life tabletop and onsite simulation events, the SCVMC staff had the opportunity to work in their new space, test equipment, validate paths of travel, and ensure preparedness on Day One of operations.
HTS congratulates the SCVMC transition team for a job impeccably done, and wish them well in their new space!
