“Find a group of people who challenge and inspire you, spend a lot of time with them, and it will change your life.” – Amy Poehler

I couldn’t think of a more fitting quote about the people in our team. As I reflect on this year, I see that we’ve accomplished so much! Our Transition Team is filled with high-achieving team members who are never satisfied with the status quo. They challenge the process and are constantly working on methods to improve our tools and deliverables. They surely keep me on my toes! There’s never a dull moment at HTS, and I’m so grateful to be able to work with this team

Our highly-motivated team is led by our Directors, Jeff Agner and Lynn Aguilera. Jeff is celebrating 13 years at HTS and was instrumental in successfully completing the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center and Keck Medicine of USC projects, in addition to being our general counselor and supporting the day-to-day IT needs of our team. Jeff wears many hats, and is our resident genius! As the internal Director for Transition and Activation Planning for the Stanford Children’s Hospital project, Lynn Aguilera successfully planned and implemented the move of the facility into their new home on December 9th. Lynn is also instrumental in securing new work for our team in Nome, AK, and in developing new tools that the entire team benefits from. Thank you, both for your unwavering dedication and commitment to HTS and for all you do to make us great.

In addition to our leadership team, our Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) are responsible for building and improving our Toolbox. 2017 has been a very creative and productive year. We have established workgroups that meet before and after major initiatives to review our existing state, make recommendations for improvement, implement these recommendations, and then re-evaluate ways to further improve our processes. It’s impressive to watch everyone come together and respect what each person brings to the table regardless of age, tenure, or experience. Some of our best improvements came from our “fresh faces” who love to ask “Why?”.

Two of our workgroups that I’ll highlight include our Move Team, and the Marketing, Sales, and Communications (MCS) Team. Our Move Team led by Ann Ahmadi, Kathy Stevenson, Jonathan Ahmadi, and Erica Aguilera Dickey completed a major overhaul of our process and tools. Their efforts were rewarded with compliments from the clients and patients’ families during the moves. Our MCS team of Brenda de Borja, Christina Olivarria, and Becky Sales pushed our social media followers and reach to the business community to an all-time high! MCS is also responsible for our proposals, and they, in turn, rely on the financial expertise of Jeff, Jonathan, and Nick Tran. This team’s unfaltering dedication to proposal writing garnered us the most number of contracts to date.

None of our work would be possible without the efforts of our admin support and travel team who get us where we need to go with the correct flights, cars, hotels, and documents! Big shout out to this group – Brenda, Christina, Jessica Lee, Erika Meredith, Tannya McFarlane, Chana Harris, and Britney Bennet.

Our Core Team of project managers, specialists, coordinators, and support staff has been stellar in delivering support to our projects. We touch base weekly for project updates, check-in on which projects need additional helping hands, share lessons learned, and acknowledge each other (we call these shout-outs!). I love listening to the team recognize and uplift each other!

I am beyond superlatives to describe the awesome feeling when we deliver quality work to our clients (and future clients), from Gambell, AK to Miami, FL, and across the pond to Vancouver, BC. We look with the same optimism for the year ahead.

2017 Highlights and Accomplishments:

  • Projects in 4 New States- South Carolina, Ohio, Arkansas, and Michigan
  • 13 Interdisciplinary Day in the Life events
  • 6 Hospital moves -3 of them in December

I wish everyone peace, love, good health, and much happiness for 2018. I am excited about our future!
