December 3 was Move Day for Dayton Children’s Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, the final milestone in the construction of its new patient tower. The tower will be home to the neurosciences, general surgery, orthopedics, diabetes, plastic surgery, ENT, urology, nephrology, cardiology, ophthalmology, pulmonary and gastroenterology. For over a year, the HTS team led by Project Manager Ley Anne Merica and Project Coordinator Kimberly King have been working towards this momentous occasion. As patients slated for the 7th and 8th floors entered the facility, each had the opportunity to cut a large gauze bow. Adhering to a patient-centric approach, the patient rooms in the new tower offer more space and updated technology to better serve their needs.
In the days leading up to Move Day, Dayton gave the patients a taste of the holiday spirit, with a special visit from Santa Claus himself. HTS was also duly notified that it made the “Nice” list!
Kimberly King noted that it was bittersweet to leave the project because she has become quite fond of the Dayton team. “The leadership, staff, and facility were amazing to work with,” says Kim. “Their hard work and dedication did not go unnoticed. The successful patient move speaks volumes!”
Congratulations Dayton Children’s! The HTS team wishes you and your team a wonderful new year in your new tower.
