Keck Medicine of USC’s new Norris Healthcare Center successfully executed two interdisciplinary Day in the Life events recently in preparation for facility activation. Representatives from the different departments engaged in sessions where they validated assumptions and logistics, tested equipment and familiarized themselves with their new work environment. Planning for the event began in May. HTS Project Managers Jeff Agner and Hilda Nering, and Project Coordinator Christina Olivarria regularly met with facility leadership and clinic captains to ensure that the Day in the Life scenarios that are relevant to and simulate the staff’s day-to-day operations.
“The facility’s project team at USC has been instrumental in the success of this project thus far. We are currently taking the final steps towards activating the building including resolving any issues discovered during the Day in the Life events and preparing for regulatory surveys”, Jeff shared. Norris Healthcare Center is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2018. The new building will feature an outpatient surgery center, transplant clinic, women’s health clinic, breast imaging center, treatment center, and a urology clinic.
