National Nurses Week is back! It begins each year on May 6 and ends on May 12, Florence Nightingale’s birthday. Since 1896, the nursing profession has been supported and promoted by the American Nurses Association (ANA). This year, ANA designates 2017 as the “Year of the Healthy Nurse”. The organization defines a health nurse as someone who actively focuses on creating and maintaining a balance and synergy of physical, intellectual, emotional, social, spiritual, personal and professional well-being. Nurses as such, are ideally positioned to be the best role models, educators, and advocates of health, safety, and wellness. Every month this year, ANA tackles specific wellness issues that all nurses can improve on. HTS joins ANA in celebrating nurses who lead the charge for health and wellness.
HTS is very proud of its nurses. They are a unique group of accomplished registered nurses who have been involved in patient care for many years. Many have gone on to earn degrees in higher learning while participating in nursing organizations and meaningful causes. Over the next few days, we would like you to introduce you to a couple of the nurses who make our organization special.
