HTS’s dynamic trio at Intermountain Utah Valley Hospital (IUVH) led by Project Manager Erin Clark with Melanie Viquez, and Melissa Johnston were back onsite last week in Provo, Utah for a series of transition activities. The HTS and IUVH teams dived into committee meetings, budget interviews, and workflow planning kick-off.
IUVH’s workflow is expected to run over the course of several months. Once the new building is turned over, workflows will be tested in the new space prior to activation to ensure these are the best plans for a top tier patient experience. The Workflow process is a unique tool that presents the opportunity to challenge the current state of hospital operations, and develops work plans for the ideal future state. It includes path of travel, access points, materials and supply distribution, decentralized nursing, patient flow, and throughput. It sets how staff will function efficiently in the new tower.
