In observance of Respiratory Care Week (October 23-29), HTS would like to celebrate and recognize the amazing respiratory therapists in our team.

Gus Figueroa, RRT, Project Specialist, started the respiratory program back in 1974. While Gus was in high school, a relative recommended Respiratory Therapy for his field of study. After one tour of White Memorial Medical Center, he knew that this was his passion.  He completed his Associates Certificate Degree in Respiratory Therapy, and the rest is history, so to speak. He went on to become a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), and a Neonatal/Pediatric Respiratory Care Specialist. While working in the field, Gus’s greatest memory was seeing the incorporation of advanced electronics in ventilator technology. Gus is a member of the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC).

Gus spends his free time with the grandchildren, and indulges his interest in cars and motorcycles.

HTS thanks you for all of your hard work that you have contributed to your field!
