In observance of Respiratory Care Week (October 23-29), HTS would like to celebrate and recognize the amazing respiratory therapists in our team.
Patrick Moore RRT, BHA, Project Specialist, began his career in 2003, by a chance recommendation from a friend in the field. He earned his Associates degree in Respiratory Therapy in 2003, and is now a credentialed Registered Respiratory Therapist, and an Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) instructor. He is a member of The American Association for Respiratory Care, as well as the California Society for Respiratory Care (CSRC). Patrick is actively involved in the CSRC, and is driven in advancing his profession. It was no wonder he was conferred the CSRC President’s Award in June 2016, the highest award given to a respiratory therapist in California.
Patrick’s involvement with CSRC led him to work with his peers to pass SB 525, a bill signed by Governor Brown in 2015. With the enactment of SB 525, both Respiratory Therapy as a profession, and those who made it their career, gained great strides. SB 525 recognizes the existence of overlapping functions between physicians and surgeons, registered nurses, physical therapists, respiratory care practitioners, and other licensed health care personnel, and permits additional sharing of functions within organized health care systems.
Patrick is currently attending law school, but is still committed to promoting and advocating for the respiratory therapy profession.
