The annual Healthcare Facilities Symposium and Expo (HFSE) took place from September 19-21 at the Hilton Orlando in Florida. HTS Senior Project Manager Lynn Aguilera and Vice President Operations at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital San Francisco and The Betty Irene Moore Women’s Hospital, Kim Scurr had the honor to present on their experience preparing for and implementing a move of employees to a million square foot medical center. UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital San Francisco and UCSF Betty Irene Moore Women’s Hospital, with the help of HTS, moved in February 2015.

During the HFSE presentation, Lynn and Kim shared lessons learned about the Transition Planning aspects of the project to prepare the facility for activation and the patient move.  Kim, shared details about operations before and after the move and many of the best practices the teams employed to ensure staff readiness.  HFSE was a great experience and Lynn stated, “The best part was after the presentation when a colleague thanked us for inspiring them to document and share their Lessons Learned. They felt our transparency in sharing the difficulties as well as the good things was extremely beneficial.”
