UC San Diego Health’s Jacobs Medical Center (JMC) conducted their second Day in the Life on Tuesday September 13th, 2016. More than 450 participants and observers attended with support from 25 HTS team members. As expected, there was a marked improvement from last month’s Day in the Life as staff were more familiar with their new facility. They enthusiastically tested new equipment and systems, continued to practice workflows necessary to ensure patient safety, and prepared their departments for their upcoming licensing survey. Over the course of the day, staff continued to identify opportunities for improvement, categorizing them as building or operational issues. Teams were extremely engaged throughout the process and now feel more prepared to provide care on day one of operations. UC San Diego Health and HTS are thrilled for the hospital’s opening day later this year!
